Pastoral Care & Outreach Donations
Pastoral Care & Outreach promotes missionary discipleship while developing mutuality and kinship with people on the margins. We attend to the corporal and spiritual works of mercy.
We are a team of Catholic chaplains and ministry volunteers committed to providing one-on-one pastoral care, Catholic Masses, sacraments, prayer services, Bible studies, retreats and other spiritual services inside Western Washington’s jails and prisons. We support and accompany all people affected by incarceration, including survivors of crime, occupants of correctional facilities, and all involved family and community members. We are committed to systemic change via restorative justice peacemaking circles that address crime/harm and foster healing. We are additionally committed to re-entry approaches that empower faith communities to provide mutually transformative wraparound support for former prison residents. We believe in transforming suffering rather than transmitting it. Criminal Justice Ministry - Archdiocese of Seattle (archseattle.org)
The mission of our Seafarers Ministry is to meet the spiritual and practical needs of ship workers who arrive at our local ports. Each year our mission serves over 20,000 seafarers who work in one of the world's most stressful and lonely occupations. Our Seafarers Center in Seattle is an ecumenical partnership between the Catholic Archdiocese of Seattle, the Episcopal Diocese of Olympia, and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). This unified ministry is exceedingly rare globally and we stand as a unique model for port missions everywhere. Seafarers' Ministry | Archdiocese of Seattle (archseattle.org)
A ministry rooted in the example of Jesus Christ that welcomes the stranger and fulfills the commitment of the U.S. Catholic bishops to protect the life and dignity of the human person. We serve and advocate for immigrants, refugees, asylees, migrants, unaccompanied children and victims of human trafficking. Immigrant & Refugee Ministry - Archdiocese of Seattle (archseattle.org)
Following Jesus Christ as our teacher, the Mental Health Ministry gathers our wisdom and resources, reaching out to parishes and schools, to create welcoming communities of compassion, support, and education to reduce the stigma of mental illness. In addition, we seek to preserve life through suicide prevention events, initiatives, and peer-to-peer workshops. Mental Health Ministry - Archdiocese of Seattle (archseattle.org)
The Inclusion Ministry serves and works collaboratively with our parishes and schools to promote the inclusion and meaningful participation of people with disabilities in the life of our Catholic faith community. Inclusion Ministry - Archdiocese of Seattle (archseattle.org)
