Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord
The Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord celebrates when Christ ascended into Heaven in the presence of his disciples on the fortieth day after his Resurrection. It is one of the five feasts and solemnities of the Easter Season.
“As he blessed them he parted from them and was taken up to heaven. They did him homage and then returned to Jerusalem with great joy, and they were continually in the temple praising God.” – Luke 24: 51-53
