Jubilee Year Immigration Pilgrimage of Hope
Catholics from across Western Washington will make a pilgrimage to the detention center to demonstrate solidarity and express hope and compassion for detainees and all immigrants. We welcome and encourage all people of goodwill and faith traditions to join us!
In the spirit of the Jubilee year of hope, Catholics throughout Western Washington are called to be pilgrims of hope. As part of Catholic social teaching, we express this hope by praying for, being in solidarity with, and showing compassion for immigrants.
Please consider supporting Advocates for Immigrants in Detention Northwest (AIDNW), a local organization that supports immigrants in detention and welcomes them on their release. Among the many ways you can support includes helping AIDNW to provide much needed phone funds to detainees. Go to https://aidnw.org/donate/ or volunteer for their Pen Pal and Visitation programs by contacting operationsmgr@aidnw.org. In conjunction with the pilgrimage, we are also collecting puzzles, backpacks, and paperback books (especially Vietnamese and other Asian Pacific languages). Please bring donated items to St. Leo the Great on October 4th.
