Pastoral Assistant for Faith Formation – St. Barbara Parish, Black Diamond (10/08/2021)

Pastoral Asst. for Evangelization of Youth & Young Adults – St. Anthony Parish, Renton (09/20/2021)

POSITION PURPOSE

The purpose of this position is to develop and implement the parish’s commitment to youth and young adult ministry in a comprehensive manner. This includes the following elements: catechesis, evangelization, social action, community building, spirituality, liturgy, guidance and advocacy.

  1. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    1. Participates in the comprehensive planning, implementation, and evaluation of the parish’s programs, goals, and objectives, with specific focus on Evangelization of Youth and Young Adults. Serves as a professional resource to parish staff regarding youth and young adult ministry.
    2. Participates in the Program Staff and All Staff meetings and activities.
    3. Assures the development of programs and activities for middle school and high school youth that foster spiritual formation and on-going faith opportunities. This should include but not be limited to retreats, religious education, socials, recreation, athletic activities, outreach programs, youth-oriented liturgies and community service opportunities.
    4. Serves as a resource to St. Anthony School Staff and families in coordination with the School Principal.
    5. Assures the on-going implementation of the youth Confirmation Sacramental Preparation program of the parish. This will entail two different levels of instruction as needed during the conversion period from High School level Confirmation to Junior High Confirmation.
    6. Provides parish support for the young adults (ages 18 -35) of St. Anthony parish that fosters spiritual formation and evangelization. This could include retreats, religious education, socials, community service outreach, and liturgical celebrations that may be coordinated with other local or regional parishes.
    7. The Pastoral Assistant for Evangelization of Youth & Young Adults recruits, enables, directs, trains, supervises and provides general and specific direction to adult parishioner volunteers involved with the Youth programs and activities.
    8. Administers the Youth & Young Adult budget with support from the Administrative Staff for depositing funds and coordinating payments of expenses.
    9. Coordinates Youth Evangelization and Confirmation meetings, celebrations, and other events with the parish calendar.
    10. Provides support to the CYO Director as needed to insure the Catholic aspect of CYO is instilled in the youth participating in the sports programs.
    11. Maintains a level of knowledge and skills required for the ministry. Reading appropriate materials and attending workshops and conventions accomplish this. The Pastoral Assistant for Evangelization of Youth & Young Adults also participates in regional, Archdiocesan and National Professional organizations.
    12. Performs other duties as appropriately assigned to me by the pastor.
  2. REQUIREMENTS
    1. Catechetical Certification for Archdiocese of Seattle or comparable.
    2. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Youth Ministry or teaching.

Pastoral Assistant for Adult Faith Formation – St. Mary Magdalen Parish, Everett (09/02/2021)

St. Mary Magdalen Parish in Everett, WA seeks a Pastoral Assistant for Adult Faith Formation and Liturgy.

PA is responsible for the R.C.I.A. program, infant baptism preparation, marriage preparation and marriage enrichment programs, Adult Confirmation, Eucharist, and Reconciliation, scripture study and other adult enrichment programs.

Working with the Pastor the PA is responsible for directing the parish worship programs including coordinating all liturgical celebrations , special liturgies, and paraliturgies scheduled throughout the year including weddings, funerals, parish missions, Stations of the Cross, Holy Hour, Rosary, etc. Coordinates the work of the liturgy teams and committees, as well as the work of the various liturgical ministers, including presiders, lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, servers, musicians, sacristans, artists, ushers, etc. This is accomplished by recruiting, screening, training, and supporting these ministers. Responsible for assuring that adequate materials are worship are available. This is accomplished by overseeing the purchase and supply of sacred vessels, vestments, and other liturgical supplies.

POSITION PURPOSE

The Pastoral Assistant for Youth Ministry furthers the mission of St Nicholas through partnership with parents and parishioners, calling on our youth to lives of holiness and helping form them into life-long disciples. To that end, the PA for Youth Ministry is responsible for developing and implementing Catholic formation for the Middle and Highschool aged youth of the parish as well as for developing a preparation program for those seeking the Sacrament of Confirmation. With the aim of Evangelizing Gig Harbor, these programs include catechesis in Catholic doctrine, liturgy, and outreach, while accompanying each individual on their journey of faith.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Serves as the main voice for the Youth at the table with parish leadership as they are planning and working to implement the mission of the parish. Communicates the needs of youth and what is happening in the parish youth ministry programs with the rest of the parish leadership.
  2. Assures the development of programs and activities for senior high youth that foster spiritual formation. This should include but not be limited to retreats, religious education, socials, recreation, athletic activities, outreach programs, youth-oriented liturgies, and community service opportunities. Also, annually designs and implements a program for Confirmation preparation.
  3. C. Implements programming for young adults. Gatherings at least once a month that provide relevant and consistent topics and activities.
  4. Recruits, enables, directs, trains and supervises catechists and other personnel for faith formation programs for middle and senior high youth, including Confirmation. Collaborates with teachers in Catholic elementary and high schools in developing and implementing Religious education opportunities.
  5. Coordinates evangelization outreach programs to youth. F. Develops and administers the youth program budget in collaboration with the Parish Administrator.

POSITION PURPOSE

  5. Assist parish ministries in developing and implementing effective communications strategies.
  6. Update and maintain parish voicemail.
  7. Attend various parish activities to coordinate media presence and document through photos and Videos.
  8. Design any parish publications, business cards, and fliers for the various ministries.
  9. Continually seek opportunities to improve communication methods, systems, and publication, and communicate recommendations to appropriate parties.
