St. Joseph Parish, Vancouver is seeking a person to collaborate with the pastor, the school principal and other pastoral staff to lead and empower parishioners in direct service, advocacy, social justice education and spirituality. The Pastoral Assistant is a resource to consultative leadership, the pastoral staff, the school and wider church communities to help raise awareness and act for justice, based on respect for life, social justice and Catholic Social Teaching. The Pastoral Assistant will serve as a liaison to social service agencies in the community who serve the marginalized. Pastoral Assistant for Music – Holy Trinity Parish, Bremerton (7/28/21)

Pastoral Assistant for Faith Formation – St. Jude, Redmond (7/26/21)

Pastoral Assistant for Youth and Young Adult Ministry – St Nicholas Parish, Gig Harbor (06/28/21)

St Nicholas Catholic Church in Gig Harbor is seeks a full-time Pastoral Assistant for Youth Ministry and Young Adult Ministry.

POSITION PURPOSE

The Pastoral Assistant for Youth Ministry furthers the mission of St Nicholas through partnership with parents and parishioners, calling on our youth to lives of holiness and helping form them into life-long disciples. To that end, the PA for Youth Ministry is responsible for developing and implementing Catholic formation for the Middle and Highschool aged youth of the parish as well as for developing a preparation program for those seeking the Sacrament of Confirmation. With the aim of Evangelizing Gig Harbor, these programs include catechesis in Catholic doctrine, liturgy, and outreach, while accompanying each individual on their journey of faith.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Serves as the main voice for the Youth at the table with parish leadership as they are planning and working to implement the mission of the parish. Communicates the needs of youth and what is happening in the parish youth ministry programs with the rest of the parish leadership.
  2. Assures the development of programs and activities for senior high youth that foster spiritual formation. This should include but not be limited to retreats, religious education, socials, recreation, athletic activities, outreach programs, youth-oriented liturgies, and community service opportunities. Also, annually designs and implements a program for Confirmation preparation.
  3. C. Implements programming for young adults. Gatherings at least once a month that provide relevant and consistent topics and activities.
  4. Recruits, enables, directs, trains and supervises catechists and other personnel for faith formation programs for middle and senior high youth, including Confirmation. Collaborates with teachers in Catholic elementary and high schools in developing and implementing Religious education opportunities.
  5. Coordinates evangelization outreach programs to youth. F. Develops and administers the youth program budget in collaboration with the Parish Administrator.

Pastoral Assistant for Communications – St Nicholas Parish, Gig Harbor (06/28/21)

POSITION PURPOSE

  4. Compose and direct the pulpit announcements.
  5. Assist parish ministries in developing and implementing effective communications strategies.
  6. Update and maintain parish voicemail.
  7. Attend various parish activities to coordinate media presence and document through photos and Videos.
  8. Design any parish publications, business cards, and fliers for the various ministries.
  9. Continually seek opportunities to improve communication methods, systems, and publication, and communicate recommendations to appropriate parties.
