Interfaith Prayer Service for Peace

Join Archbishop Paul D. Etienne and a delegation of archbishops from Nagasaki and Hiroshima for a special Interfaith Prayer Service for Peace at St. James Cathedral in Seattle at 6:30 pm. Leaders from different faith communities in the Archdiocese of Seattle will join Archbishop Etienne and members of the Japanese delegation to lead prayers for peace.

The Hibaku Maria statue, which is the top portion of a statue of Mary that survived the nuclear bombing of Urakami Cathedral in Nagasaki, will be present as a symbol of hope and resilience.

Join us for a day of Pilgrimage of Peace events in St. James Cathedral:

About the Pilgrimage of Peace:

Seattle is the last stop for the Japanese delegation, who have been on a two-week Pilgrimage of Peace to the United States, including New York City, Sante Fe and Las Vegas. They are part of the Partnership for a World Without Nuclear Weapons (PWNW), a collaboration of the dioceses of Santa Fe, Seattle, Hiroshima, and Nagasaki and many supporters around the world.
