Faith on Fire Family Weekend

This event is open to all! Faith on Fire Family Weekend is a signature Catholic event in the Pacific Northwest; a spiritually transformative celebration of Catholic fellowship, family, and vocations. The purpose of Faith on Fire is to shepherd the collective skills of Catholics and people of goodwill to celebrate the joy and beauty of our Catholic Christian faith and facilitate an authentic encounter with Jesus Christ for mission in the 21st Century.

This year our theme will be “Living for God,” and we will explore this theme in depth through inspiring talks by:

• Sarah Swafford: Founder of Emotional Virtue Ministries, speaks frequently across the country and internationally on dating, marriage, the moral and spiritual life, and Sacred Scripture. Sarah is the author of Emotional Virtue: A Guide to Drama-free Relationships.
• The Finkbonner Family: The Finkbonners are a local family in our Archdiocese with strong ties to the Native American Community. As a young child, Jake Finkbonner was dying from a rare and sudden flesh-eating disease when he was miraculously healed after a relic of (then Blessed, now Saint) Kateri Tekakwitha was placed on him and prayed over by Sister Kateri Mitchell and his family. This miracle led to Kateri Tekakwitha’s canonization in 2012.

Besides thought-provoking presentations for adults, the Faith on Fire weekend offers break-out sessions for youth and teens with meaningful guided activities and discussions about how our Catholic faith serves as a model for every aspect of our lives and leads us closer to the Lord. Daniel Oberreuter will provide music throughout the weekend and Fr. Justin Ryan Fr. Tyler Johnson, and Sister Moira Debono are additional speakers.
