Seven Sisters – Return of the Matriarchy
We invite you to “Journeying to Ancestral Future” where we will rethink our relationships with nature one another and with the responsibilities we share.
In Laudato Si’, Pope Francis emphasizes that Indigenous communities are crucial dialogue partners in the climate crisis. Indigenous ancestral wisdom respects future generations and the earth as a sacred gift—not a commodity. This perspective is essential to restoring ecological balance and achieving authentic, sustainable human development. By centering Indigenous ways of knowing, the Seven Sisters campaign advances solutions grounded in accountability, resilience, and care for future generations.
The Seven Sisters Campaign is a national, multi-site public engagement and leadership initiative from June through November 2026, led by Se’Si’Le in partnership with tribal, environmental, and faith-based organizations. This campaign will elevate the leadership of Seven Indigenous Women whose work addresses the intersecting crises of biodiversity loss, climate disruption, Indigenous Lifeways, and environmental justice.
