Building Intercultural Competence for Ministers
The Archdiocese of Seattle invites all who have previously participated in intercultural competence training, as well as parish ministers, staff and volunteers interested in fostering diversity in their communities to attend this special Building Intercultural Competence for Ministers (BICM) Training at the Large Isaac Orr Conference Room in Seattle.
Participants will gain practical skills to facilitate intercultural competence training, engage in reflection on culture and ministry, and learn best practices for parish‑based implementation. As first highlighted by the USCCB in 2007, BICM is a continuation of the Archdiocese of Seattle’s ongoing efforts to build intercultural skills for parish staff and volunteers.
The present and future of our Church depend on our ability to remain united as one Body of Christ. Strengthening intercultural competence helps our diverse local Church work together as Partners in the Gospel.
Registration is required but there is no cost to attend. To register, click here.
