Do you know someone (aged 16-35) who might be called to the priesthood or religious life? Our Lord often calls young people forth through family, friends, teachers, mentors, and parishioners. Like Philip inviting Nathanael to "come and see," prayerfully consider those you know who show signs of a call through their love of the Lord, our Church, and their heart of service.
After the submission deadline, a letter from Archbishop Etienne will be sent out to encourage and support them in their discernment, as well as inviting the nominees to Andrew and Miriam dinners, where they will learn more about these vocations and interact with their peers.

Pray
Heavenly Father, we thank you for the gift of the priesthood and consecrated life, and for all those who dedicate themselves to serving your Church. As we prayerfully consider the young men and women in our lives, we ask that you open our eyes to see those whom you are calling to follow you in a special way. Give us the courage and wisdom to submit their names, trusting that you will plant the seed and give the increase. Pour out your grace upon those you are calling, granting them hearts of generosity and faith to hear and respond to your invitation. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Discern
Look for young people in your community who have the following qualities:
- A strong relationship with Jesus Christ
- Catholic (aged 16 to 35) who participates in Mass and prayer opportunities regularly
- Exudes joy when talking about faith and shares it freely with others
- Leadership capacity
- Compassion toward those in need
- Heart for service
- Communicates well with men and women
- Good physical and emotional health
Invite
On the weekend of January 31 & February 1, 2026, submit the name(s) of the young men and women in your community who you think might have a vocation to priesthood or religious life.
Archbishop Etienne wants all the faithful at each of our parishes to participate in this Called by Name campaign to intentionally let the Lord Jesus invite each of our young people toward their vocation. Through your invitations, our Vocations office seeks to offer young people resources on what the priesthood and religious life is really like and guidance on how to discern. We hope through this campaign that our local Church will be blessed with an abundance of young people serving as priests and religious as they joyfully respond to our Lord calling them by name.
