“The Christian proclamation on the family is good news indeed”
~ Pope Francis, Amoris Laetitia, 1
Proclaiming the Year of the Family
Pope Francis established the Year of the Family on March 19, 2021, the Solemnity of St. Joseph. This marks the fifth anniversary of the publication of his Apostolic Exhortation, Amoris Laetitia, which means "The joy of love" and explores the beauty and joy found in family life.
The Year of the Family will conclude on June 26, 2022, on the occasion of the tenth World Meeting of Families in Rome with the Holy Father.
Pope Francis established the Year of the Family to help strengthen faith and live God’s joy more fruitfully in family life.
Pray the rosary as a family
October is the month of the rosary, and the Pope's team has developed a rosary guidebook and meditation for families with children. Each mystery is accompanied by watercolor drawings that help families enter into the mysteries.
